The course theoretically introduces students to Critical Multimodal Discourse Analysis and offers a selection of semiotic and linguistic tools to decode global digital discursive practices. The analysis is integrated with a diachronic overview on the cultural connotation of digital mediational means and its American ideational roots, which affect the textual structure of web artifacts
Theoretical frontal lessons involving the students’ participation aim to improve their linguistic and metalinguistic skills to decode specialized texts.
