The Master's degree in Public and Political Communication Strategies starting from a.y. 2012-2013 offers a newly conceived programme.

The new educational project has its roots in the long-standing, positive experience of the Master Course in "Strategic Communication" but at the same time it widens its scope by adding new teachings and new disciplinary areas.

The structure of the new degree has as one of its main objectives to strengthen the multidisciplinary approach - a prerequisite for the new professional profiles in communications and to concentrate its educational focus on the centrality of communication in this day and age with particular reference to institutions and politics.

The study path allows students to acquire solid basic and innovative communications culture based on specific professional skills (acquired also through a compulsory internship) and knowledge of social, linguistic, economical and political aspects essential to meet the industry needs: gathering of select information; production of journalistic contents; public and social communication; political communication; radio,TV and the new media communication.

Course Objectives

The course provides, in a multidisciplinary perspective, the theoretical framework, the empirical knowledge of communication systems, the functioning of public and political institutions; the mechanisms of public opinion formation; social impact of communication technologies - all key tools to interpret the dynamics between communication systems and economical, social and political entities.

The degree aims also to develop the necessary skills to deal successfully with communications in complex organisations, to analyse and manage information flows, to plan and implement communication projects for public and private bodies and to produce content in different communication sectors.
