The Population unit of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe is seeking qualified applicants for internships of 2-3 months' duration. We accept applications at all times, but are especially interested in hearing from those available between September and December 2015.
UNECE, founded in 1947, is one of the five Regional Commissions of the United Nations and provides its member Governments (the countries of Western and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia, as well as Canada, Israel and the United States of America) with a systematic and institutionalized opportunity to work together to seek practical solutions to common challenges in areas such as environment, energy, statistics, trade, transportation, gender and population. The UNECE Population unit focuses on issues of population ageing and intergenerational and gender relations. Its work is governed by the UNECE Working Group on Ageing. More information on the work of the unit can be found at www.unece.org/population
Applicants should be currently-enrolled postgraduate students of demography, sociology, social policy or a related field.
